Understanding the Struggle

XM Radio

Last week I got something in the mail that would give me XM Radio's "XM Everything" for $77 for the first year (half off).  I had always said I would never pay for radio, but when I got the Corvette it came with XM for three months and I got used to the clarity and selection that just isn't found on the radio.  Then when I started it up one day and it was gone, I flipped over to the standard radio and hated it.  

In reality I mostly listen to CDs, but every now and then it's nice to turn on the radio and just chill.  Fast forward to today.  A simple two minute call had me set up with XM again and I'm happy:-)  I can cancel at anytime, due to no early termination fees, so it basically comes down to 21 pennies a day.  Not bad.

Kanye West coming out with ANOTHER New Album?

So the word I'm hearing is that Kanye West will release another album this summer.  He will go back to his rap roots and put out another "rap" album.  I can't wait for that!

According to reports, West isn't concerned with sales on his latest release "808s & Heartbreak".  The album was more about artistic creation.  

I've listened to 808s and when looking at the creativity, I enjoy it.  Is it the best album of the year?  Na, but it's fresh and new and gives my ears something new to move to.  I suspect 808s will sell a ton too because while he may alienate some of his core fans, he will gain just as many who never listened before.  Sounds like a big year for Mr. West.

Adele

Just heard Adele for the first time on VH1's Top 20 Countdown and quickly went to iTunes and bought her album 19.

I haven't even listened to the album, but I'm excited! This is another Myspace success story. After posting demos on the site, she was contacted by a record company and the rest is history.

According to wikipedia, the album was written about a former boyfriend.

Kanye West: Heartless

I'm a little behind on this, but what do you think of Kanye's latest release...Heartless? I was worried Kanye would be singing on the whole album, but apparently he WON'T be:-) Big relief there:-)
