I was one of the people that pushed buy on the remote and ordered up the De La Hoya/Pacquiao fight last night. I love watching boxing. Just love it! The dedication, the fact that anything can happen, is so exciting to me. While I love boxing, I'm no expert on the sport. I watch HBOs 24/7 and fall victim to the story line, just like the rest of viewers.
Going into the fight, I thought it would be good, but in the end I thought De La Hoya would pull it out due to his four inch height advantage and what was thought to be his weight advantage (he actually weighted less than Manny going in). Everyone was wrong on this one!
This was the most lopsided fight amongst top tier fighters I have EVER seen. I really feel this morning that Manny Pacquiao delivered the best performance in a boxing ring that I've ever witnessed. It was amazing how he dominated the fight. De La Hoya is older (35), but Pacman made him look like a guy just learning to box. I was shocked!
I saw the De La Hoya/Mayweather fight too and that fight was SO MUCH closer than this one. I think last night Floyd would have gotten beaten by Manny. No doubt. Manny Pacquiao is THE MAN!
