I'm about to go Wild West on ya!

It looks as though the next 360 purchase will be Call of Juarez. The thing that makes this game a must purchase is the fact that my brother just hooked up his live connection, which in turn got me to renew mine. We've already played some hoops against each other online and this game means a wild wild west war!

Only a couple of weeks until shots are firing and varmits are goin down! I can't wait!

LOST is back!

Thanks to my DVR we just finished watching the season finale of LOST. The show was amazing! LOST is back! I've come so close, too many times this season, to stop watching the show. The finale was like season one...awesome!

Can't wait for next season!!!

Gone Shopping

Today I picked up a few things at the mall. Things I needed ya know:-) The list: Jonathan Product: Dirt, new flip flops, and some new cologne called Hyponose (smells gooooood).

Best of all...with gift cards in hand it was almost all free. This free stuff is the way to go:-)

30's the new 20

Yesterday I turned 30 and it had to be one of the best birthdays I've ever experienced. Age has never really been anything that affected me for good or for bad. Age is something that we use as a measure for our length of existence on the round marble. It has never equated to success, love, or well being...as those can happen anytime. Hopefully as we age, wisdom is gained and insight into some of life's traps is tucked away for later use. Hopefully:-)

Back to me being 30. I woke up and felt just like I did at 29;-) Some things were different though. For starters, Charissa had gotten up and decorated the living room with things to remind me exactly how old I am now (in case I could somehow forget...haha). She had also cooked me breakfast and had a gift for me to open with a card. So sweet indeed. The gift was some Air Jordans...awesome!

I went through the workday, got a cake, card and giftcard (which I really appreciate) and my day was done. I knew Charissa was coming to pick me up, but I really didn't know why. After all, I do have a car, but I was up for whatever.

As I walked outside, around the corner, there was a stretch limo (full of cherry coke...very cool) waiting to take us to dinner! The dinner was Ruth Chris Steakhouse...my favorite steak out:-) We got there after a nice ride in the limo and to my surprise my parents were there! I would soon find out that my bro, ang and Brock would be coming too. They were late as usual, but I might have passed out if they were on time:-)

We sat down and had a great dinner. My food actually ended up being free as they brought out the wrong thing, so I ended up eating chicken and steak for free! +$60 in food for free...that was a great way to kick off 30:-)

As for gifts, my parents gave me some money (too much), Brock bought me some Panera (giftcard) and my bro and Angela had gotten Charissa and me a clothes steamer the night before.

After a limo ride back I was on my way home from the coolest Birthday ever!

My new edger:-)

Yesterday, after years of debate, I finally broke down and bought a new Echo Edger for the yard. I acted as though it was a present to myself (my birthday is next week), which is funny for two reasons. One being that I would choose an edger as a gift to myself. The other being that "a gift to myself" is my rational for buying it:-) I'm getting older for sure. A few years ago the buy would have been something totally different...hahaha.

Anyway, after an initial run the yard looks great and the ease of use is even better. No more wandering grass on my sidewalks and curbs!

American Idol Shocker!

Last night my chin almost hit the floor when they announced that it was the end of the road for the "resident pro" Melinda Doolittle. My opinion is that Melinda is one of the best, if not the best, technical singers AI has ever had.

In reality it really doesn't matter who wins at this point. Everyone is getting a record deal and everyone has a chance to sell the most records (see Daughtry). I just think it's sad that the best isn't going to win.

On the season finale we go next week. Is Jordin the next AI...or will Blake come out of nowhere to be crowed. We'll find out in a week or so. Peace!

I just won the NBA Championship...well, kinda

Another game down:-) After stumbling into the playoffs with the Bobcats, I took them all the way to the Finals to face the Lakers. After falling down 2-0, I came back and won four straight to take the title.

Random thoughts this week

1. The De La Hoya/Mayweather fight really wasn't that good. $54.99 out the door. For that money, you really want to see two guys fight, but I guess that's why they don't calling it fighting. Oh well, I'm sure I'll be spending to watch the next "big fight" too.

2. Charissa thinks she's tired of eating filet mignon. We are so very blessed! When you're tired of eating what many consider the King of steaks, you're doing all right...at least in my book. Her statement (half joking of course) really has brought on a lot of reflection for me. Any moment or thing, no matter how nice or special, if not treated so, becomes routine and thus we tire from the mundane. I move forward attempting to be even more thankful.

3. How many people truly want to be your friend? A friend being an individual whom wants nothing in return from you other than friendship. How many?

4. Can someone of the opposite sex ever want to be a just a friend? Not an acquaintance mind you, a friend.

Bamboo Steamer

While I was away the bamboo steamer I ordered off of Amazon.com came in. I got interested in the bamboo steamer a couple of months ago as I was reading through Mens Health. Healthy, quick, good meals, what more could anyone want? With dinner lingering over every day after work, it's nice to have some alternative methods of cooking. The bamboo steamer is just that.

Today I tried it out as I made some pork dumplings along with snow peas and broccoli. All done with no oil! It was really good! The pork dumpling recipe I kinda made my own and it turned out much better than expected. Actually, I've never seen Charissa down so much food in such a little amount of time:-)

I could have had some water and made it a really healthy meal, but I downed some Pepsi and enjoyed. If you've never cooked with a bamboo steamer, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. You might just surprise yourself and your taste buds:-D
