Can't wait!

Another installment of MercyMe's Cover Tune Grab Bag. Love this stuff. Doesn't this make you wanna go buy a Rick Astley CD??? Listen and get your love on:-)
Peace!
My bro needs to hire this guy. He rocks!!!
A few weeks ago I told you how MercyMe would take requests and then
sing the songs. Well here is the first one...the Bee Gees classic
"Stayin Alive." Enjoy Mom:-)

Third Day is the first Christian band to ever be on the cover. Awesome!
Jessica Simpson is going Country, as you may or may not know. If you wanna listen to her first release, "Come On Over," click the link below.

So I downloaded Jamie Lidell's new release "Jim" and this thing grabbed me. My ears have a permanant smile on when I'm listening to this CD.

I wouldn't post this if my brother didn't like this person so much. I think he's seen all of her movies. I just hope he doesn't like this CD. Bad...really bad.
I'm talking about Scarlett Johansson's new CD "Anywhere I Lay My Head" which kinda makes you wanna lay yours near one of those things that fires bullets.
OK, that was a bit extreme...just a bit:-)
Love to ya all!
So I downloaded the new Tenth Avenue North CD "Over and Underneath" yesterday morning off of iTunes and listened as I drove to and from work and to the mall. As you know if you consistently check out this blog, I'm always looking for music. Good music. That task is tough sometimes and sometimes it happens almost by accident. I had never heard of Tenth Avenue North before the sun said hello yesterday, but a day later I find myself checking tour dates.
My favorite song thus far is "By Your Side." I've listened to that one 10 times at least. Tenth Avenue North is a Florida based band that is going to be HUGE. Check them out!
Here is a youtube video that kinda introduces the band and also lets you hear parts of a few songs.
I'm always looking for new music and this morning I found the band Tenth Avenue North. More on this Florida based band later today. Check them out below.
...and the journey continues.

So on MercyMe's blog they are taking requests to sing any song. What's better is that they are actually going to post them on their blog. This is the pinnacle of awesomeness. A HUGE band just having fun.
Keep it real fellas. Keep it real!
Watch the vid. Bart is funny man!

So a few posts ago, I posted a video of David Sides playing a Kanye West medley. Thought the dude was awesome, then I read this on his myspace page....
"Hello, my name is David Sides and I want to personally send my thanks to all of you for taking the time to come visit my page. Playing the piano has been my passion ever since I self taught myself at the age of 10, and I love using this gift God has blessed me with to entertain others. For those who may wonder, I play all of my music by ear, so unfortunately, I don’t have any sheet music to share. I hope that all of you enjoy the music displayed and I encourage you to feel free to check back for updates on more music and events.
Thank You to all my fans and supporters! I Love you ALL!"
Are you kidding me!!!! Wow, this guy has some talent. Check out his page and show some support!!! Peace!

On April 8th you can go to Amazon and download Third Day's new single
Call My Name. Be sure to support the guys and download this one. The
album comes out July 29th.
Peace!
Mariah's latest #1 hit put her behind only the Beatles for the most No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. She has 18. Crazy!
Everyone knows who Elvis and the Beatles are. Does everyone know Mariah??
Maybe Elvis will make a comeback and take the spot back:-)

Is this the new album cover?? I guess we'll find out on July 29th.
If this is Third Day's new cover, I really like it. Nice, very nice:-)
Has anyone heard Third Day's new song I'll Always Be True?? Freakin
rocks!!! I relate it a lot to my relationship, now that I'm getting
married to my perfect match. I'm blessed. Too bad the CD comes out
in July, because I would play it at the wedding (hint hint...Third Day).
Check out the song. You may need a Wired subscription to do so right
now, but what's $30 really? It's worth it...I promise.
Blessed and very much so.

Not sure if anyone watched Celebrity Apprentice this year, but one guy
who won at ton of new fans, including me was Trace Adkins. I can't
recall any person on reality TV who has ever represented themselves
better. Trace is a guy's guy and a great one at that.
His single, You're Gonna Miss This, is a great song and currently all
proceeds are going to the charity he represented on the show, the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN). Solid guy for sure. Go buy the song and the album.
Peace!
Did anyone see Mac on the Celebrity Apprentice finale???? He was
popping up every few seconds. Very cool! I wish they could have
replaced the BSB with Third Day. That would have been really cool!
Is Third Day going to be on Celebrity Apprentice?? Looks like it's a possibility. See the link below.
The first mistake of the year on AI.

Warren's first single "Love is Not A Fight" is a really touching song
that you can hear by going to www.warrenbarfield.com.
Here is the story behind the song (courtesy of his myspace page).
-----------------
The Story Behind The Song "Love is Not a Fight" Current mood: inspired Category: Music
My wife is my best friend, who I love dearly, and she loves me. But
isn't it fascinating that two people who love each other so much can
cut one another so deeply? When you let issues build up in a marriage,
the smallest thing can trigger a war, and pretty soon you can lose
sight of your love and commitment to one another. We had a night where
something as trivial as spilled pretzels forced into the open things
we had left unsaid. Once everything had calmed down, I wrote this
song. In that moment, I fully realized my duty, as my wife's husband,
was to wrap my arms around her. To love her more than my pride, more
than my desire to be 'right,' and to find a way to move through life's
good and bad times together. That will be a struggle at times, but
love is worth the fight.
I wrote "Love is Not a Fight" about my marriage and my commitment to
my wife. I've been performing it at my shows now for about six months,
and after every show I am overwhelmed by the many different ways the
song is affecting other people. I heard a story the other day about a
man who has an adopted daughter. He said at times the challenges seem
impossible to struggle through, but my song reminded him that Love is
Worth the fight. The song has proven to be more than just a tune I
wrote in my living room about my story, it is song about all of our
relationships.
It's easy to just skim by on the surface of life. The challenge is to
go beyond the shallows into deeper relationships with the ones we
love. At times this can be uncomfortable. It means we have to take the
time to invest in their lives. It means we will have to be vulnerable
and honest about who we really are. This will likely result in some
pain. But it's the kind of pain that carves out space in our souls for
more joy than we could have ever experienced before.
More "things" will not bring you the full life that we all crave. It
is time we make the important things important again and seek deeper
relationships with our Maker and the people we share this space with.
Love is not a fight, but it is something worth fighting for.
Warren Barfield
Warren Barfield is set to release his latest album Worth Fighting For on May 20th. I can't wait. I'm a big fan of Warren Barfield.
Check the link below and hear his latest Love is Not A Fight.
This will freakin blow your MIND! This guy, Arnel Pineda, from the Philippines has been singing since he was 5. To make a long story short, he's 40 and does covers of bands like Journey. His band posted the performances on YouTube and the real Journey's guitarist got in touch with Arnel and now Arnel is the lead singer for the REAL BAND JOURNEY!!
Are you kidding me? Watch the vid and click the link for his bio. Talent...unreal talent!
I'm not all that hungry and it's 9:07pm...make that 9:08pm. I wasn't
hungry last night either. I ate a couple of cheeseburgers (Ronald's
kind) and a few fries at 5pm yesterday and then didn't eat anything
besides a handful of nuts and some milk. So unlike me.
I'm stressed about silly things. Silly things being just about
everything that can't be controlled, which is just about everything.
A deep breath and a trip to some fast food establishment is in my near
future.
On a brighter note, I heard some of Third Day's new music. The CD is
set to be released on July 29th. I need some more Third Day, that is
for sure.
Peace!
I've been in a music funk. I consume music so quickly that I'm always looking for something new and refreshing. The past couple of months I've been hungry for something to fill the musical side of who I am. While I've found a few new artists that I'll continue to follow, none have really prompted me to jump on here and attempt to convince others to go and buy their records.
Leeland's new album Opposite Way rocks! After a few days of listening and discovering and enjoying new tracks, this album is a must buy. What's $10 anyway? You'll probably spend more on that for dinner and in the morning you'll still be hungry. Pick up Leeland's new album and feed the hunger:-)
If you have it, let me know what you think.
I picked up the new Leeland album Opposite Way yesterday and the title track has me replaying it over and over again.
Opposite Way is my current favorite song. Check the lyrics after you listen a few times. It'll rock ya.

My vision is a bit blurred from just getting out of bed, but what I just read has got to be a joke. "Third Day and Brad Avery have made the very difficult decision to part ways."
There are just some things selfishly as a fan that you never want to happen. You never want your favorite band to break up and you never want them to stop singing.
Third Day is and has been HUGE in my life. To the reader, that may sound a bit out there, but I have my reasons. I'm sure Brad and the band have theirs too.
God Bless them both. There is a plan for everything.

The Sentinel has a write up on "lowering 'boom' on car stereos." How dumb is this? In 2005 legislators enforced the 25-foot rule, being of course that if you can hear the music from 25 feet away a ticket can be written by an officer. Dumb!
If the person with the car is just sitting in one place that is near business or residences, sure give them a ticket. That is disrupting to life. If they are at a red light and the music is loud...BIG DEAL! This is an annoyance ticket.
My neighbors annoy me. Can I give them a ticket? Their lawnmower is too loud. Can I give them a ticket? All kinds of things annoy me I guess, but you can't going around giving tickets. Look at the good things in life and stop dissecting every little thing that isn't how you'd like it to be. It makes life so much more enjoyable.
Peace out! Play your music LOUD!!

I make some beats myself, but I stumbled upon this video of this guy remaking Kanye's "Through the Wire" beat. Pretty cool.
This is funny stuff! By the way, Kanye did sell the most albums in the first week (read up on him and 50 going at it if you're in the dark). Something like 967,000 albums sold. That's Stronger!
Who ever would have thought that some water would sell for 4.1 billion. That's what Coke paid for Glaceau's Vitamin Water. I love the stuff.
The sale also threw some change in 50's pocket. 100 million in change!
Thanks to Charissa for keeping me in the Hip Hop loop:-)
